Since 1 January 2026 the rule says: determine the full charge, calculate the leak rate on every addition, repair within 30 days of exceeding the limit, keep a record of every service visit for three years. This is the ledger those records live in, and the ticket a contractor hands the owner after every visit.
What the record is
The rule lists what a service record must contain. The ledger keeps exactly that, one card per appliance, one entry per visit:
- the appliance and where it is
- the date of the installation, service, repair or disposal
- the parts worked on and the type of work
- the name of the person who did it
- the amount and type of refrigerant added or removed
- the full charge
- the leak rate and the method used

The leak rate is computed on every top-up by the method the facility uses, annualizing or rolling average, and compared with the limit for the appliance type. Over the limit, the 30-day repair clock starts, the verification tests are scheduled, and the card says so in red. Under it, the card says so in ink. A year's additions are summed against the 125% chronic-leak threshold, and the report data is ready by 1 March.
Records are kept three years, as the rule says, and the appliance card until three years after the appliance is retired.

The ticket the contractor hands over
If someone other than the owner does the work, the rule says that person must provide the owner with the record. Every service visit produces one of these. The contractor keeps the top copy; the owner gets the record.

Not on sale yet: the ledger is being built behind the free tools, and payments are the last thing switched on. The ladder and the deal, plainly. Wuzler never certifies compliance. It keeps the record and does the arithmetic.
